So many compliments on these little devils. Even though they are a sugar cookie, I have been told they taste like a buttery shortbread cookie. But either way, I will let you decide…
Do you like a recipe with variety? Variety means one easy recipe that can be morphed into several other things. Sounds right up your ally right? Well with this recipe you definitely get variety!
Here are a few of my favorite “varieties” 🙂
- If you like a more crispier cookie, cook it longer, if you like a softer cookie (like me), cook it just until golden brown or set up in the middle.
- Add in some orange, lemon, and/or lime zest to give it that tropical flavor
- Add in some coconut
- Add in some almond extract or another favorite extract of yours
- Top it with a sweetened cream cheese mixture and top with fruit for individual fruit pizzas (my best friend and I go way back with this method)
- Are you using butter or margarine? Either is fine, but just know this will affect your cookie texture as well. I personally only use butter, but know margarine is equally good if not better in some people opinion. So experiment with both and let me know below which is your favorite?
Enough varities for you, now print the recipe and get to bakin’!
What other “varieties” are you doing? I want to know. Drop me a comment below so I can add it above.
