PURCHASING FRESH FRUIT: HOW TO KNOW IF ITS RIPE
Have you ever brought home a fresh cantaloupe or pineapple and couldn’t wait to sink your teeth into it, just to find it wasn’t very flavorful or sweet?
Well, whether I look like a goon or not, I always do this before purchasing my cantaloupe or pineapple and I have great success!
Just pick up the pineapple by its top, flip it upside down, and smell the “eye.” If it smells sweet and yummy, it should probably taste just like it smells! If you don’t smell much, that’s a sign it’s probably not ripe 🙂
Same goes for a cantaloupe! Smell the “eye.” If it smells sweet, buy it, if you don’t smell much, don’t buy it. It’s that simple!
