This dish can be thrown together in less than an hour or it can take all day! Either way this Chicken Parm ala Crock recipe will crave that Chicken Parm tooth with little to no mess!
To save yourself even more time, you can use pre bought spaghetti sauce or let your homemade version slow cook all day in the crockpot!
Then just an hour before serving crank your crock to high and dump in the frozen chicken of choice. Top with all that cheese and serve alongside some pasta and some steamed veggies tossed in a little butter, olive oil, and a garlic herb mix. Look in your pantry I’m sure you can find some seasoning that is floating around in there (and has been for awhile now) that will take your veggies from blah to extraordinaire.
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of frozen fully cooked, breaded chicken strips, nuggets, or popcorn
- 1-8 oz. bag mozzerella, shredded
- ½ c. parmesan cheese
- Spaghetti sauce or Tandy’s Quick Versatile Tomato Sauce
Instructions:
- Spray crock with cooking spray or better yet place a crock pot bag inside crock. {Tip: Put a little water in the bottom of crock first then place bag in crock. The water will help the liner from sticking to the crock. }
- Mix sauce ingredients if using Tandy’s Quick and Versatile Tomato Sauce recipe in the crock and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 3-5 hours.
- Add the uncooked chicken in for the last 1 hour of cooking.
- Top with cheese for the last 15 minutes of cooking.
Note: Want to use pre bought spaghetti sauce, then no need to cook all day. Add chicken into crock, top with sauce, and cook in crock on high for about 1-½ hours. If you like you like your chicken super crispy and the soggy crock texture bothers you, then just bake your chicken in oven first and top with sauce!
