Why you should be using a Priority Time Blocking strategy too!
As a Full time working mom of 3 outside the home, running the behind the scenes of my husbands business, and trying to do this thing called “hobby” blogging on top everyday tasks of organizing our calendar, grocery shopping, house cleaning, laundry, paying bills, while making sure you have a strong marriage, disciplined kids, and time for self-care is A LOT to balance at times! I know you can relate because you are/have been there too!
Well, I am here today to change things up a bit and be a bit vulnerable with you! I want to share with you today how I try and to keep the train moving 🙂 Keep in mind this is always a work in progress and I don’t always stick to it or with it, but you know what matters most? You have a plan and are making it a priority.
I will break it down into steps:
1. Create a list of your top 3-5 priorities in your life. (marriage, God, kids, work, etc.)
2. Next, break your days of the week into AM/Day/PM with times you are able to work in priorities. Keep in mind this may result in waking up an hour earlier or taking a lunch break, etc.
3. Look at your schedule or existing calendar and schedule in your priorities. Focusing on only 2 a day!
4. Remember these are your TOP priorities in life so finding the time to fit them in is a must. Keep in mind even if it’s only 10 minutes spent toward the priority it is better than no time at all and I promise your loved one, your body, your energy, your kids, your happiness will all benefit from this! I loved the book “The Fringe Hours” if you are interested in reading more about time management and how to fit in or make the time for the things that make us happy.
