Recipe from Jamielyn on her blog I Heart Naptime
Peanut Butter No-Bake Bars
So I ran across this recipe on Pinterest of course -what would we cook if we didn’t have Pinterest?
I have tried this recipe a couple times, and both times we have loved them( I’m talking the whole pan loved them 😉
The first time I made them I used my mini food processor to crush the graham crackers into very fine crumbs, and the second time I just used a baggie and crushed them myself as fine as I could get them.
I did tend to like the food processor a little better, but I know that requires another dish to wash, and who wants that? The end result is, it’s soaked in melted butter and peanut butter so no matter if you have a bigger chunk of cracker or not it will end up mushy anyways and you will hardly notice 🙂
But what I loved about this dessert was all I needed was 2 glass dishes( I used the same glass bowl I mixed my peanut butter mixture in to melt the chocolate chips). It’s about being resourceful right? Easy, Easy, Easy!
What you’ll Need- (yes this is baking so there is actual measurements).
Ingredients:
- 1 cup salted butter (melted) or 2 sticks
- 2 cups keebler graham cracker crumbs(you can either use a food processor to get fine crumbs or place in baggie and crush yourself)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (11 oz) bag milk chocolate chips
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients, except chocolate chips in a medium sized bowl. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour peanut butter mixture into a 9×13 pan.
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave (at 50% power) for 1-2 minutes. Stir chocolate and pour over the peanut butter mixture. Spread chocolate with a spatula. To even out chocolate, tap pan on the counter.
- Refrigerate bars for one hour. Cut while bars are still cool. Enjoy!
